Skin Needling

Skin Needling

Skin needling is a non invasive procedure that involves using a roller that has many fine, very sharp medical quality needles. The rolling action over the skin causes fine holes punctured into the deep layers of the skin. This promotes your skins own healing mechanisms to stimulate new collagen growth, improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of scarring and fine lines.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does skin needling work?

Skin needling produces thousands of very microscopic punctures in the skin. Each mini puncture triggers the body’s repair response within the skin, producing natural electrical signals in the dermis as it breaks some of the tiny blood vessels directly below the surface of the skin. As the blood clots it releases various natural growth factors and creates the correct environment for collagen and elastin formation which help the skin to appear rejuvenated.

Are there any risks?

As this process happens on a microscopic level, the outward appearance of any trauma is negligible and skin redness is reduced with hours. Only a tiny fraction of the epidermis is disturbed with most of the activity in the deeper skin layer. Hence, the skin does not risk damage, colour loss or hyper pigmentation.

How many treatments are needed?

Four to eight treatments, up to six weeks apart are recommended.

What results can I expect?

Visible skin improvement can continue for up to twelve months following a treatment series. Skin will appear firmer, more refined, smoother and more rejuvenated, and the luminosity of the complexion will improve.

What can I expect immediately following the treatment?

The skin will be red and swollen, as it would in the case of severe sunburn. The redness begins to subside after a few hours. Most clients return to work the following day.
